Implementing Smarter Lunchrooms strategies is a great way to reduce waste by encouraging consumption. We were recently featured in Time for Kids’ Earth Day issue, along with other programs geared towards fighting food waste. Click here for the Time for Kids teacher supplement, which provides lesson plans for engaging kids in many Smarter Lunchrooms activities. (This is normally exclusive to subscribers, but you can access it here for free!) These lesson plans include activities for evaluating and reducing food waste in the lunchroom, a tally chart for easily assessing food waste during lunch hours, creative food and spice labels, and more.
